5E Instruction Model

The 5E instruction model was based upon, Jerome Bruner, John Dewey and David Kolb. Also, Roger Bybee contributed to it. The model shows the structure for constructivist learning theory. Constructivism is the concept that learners construct knowledge for themselves from current/past knowledge through experience and reflecting on experience.

The 5E model sequences learning experiences so that students have the opportunity to construct the understanding of the experience over time.
